Having grown up in Oklahoma, moving to Kansas City still feels like home to Christen Cota. She was born here and lived here until she was eight years old. She has many fond memories of going to the “K” with her grandpa (and the summer that George Brett called her by name!) and to Starlight Theater with her grandma. 

Christen heard the call to work for the Church at a young age. After graduating from Benedictine College with a degree in Theology, work in various ministries took her to Oklahoma, Kansas, and then to Iowa where she married her husband Robert. Christen and her family have moved to Liberty from West Des Moines, IA where she spent the last eight years as the Director of Faith Formation for a large parish. 

Christen has been serving Holy Family Parish since 2020. As Pastoral Associate at Holy Family, she facilitates adult education classes, including RCIA and Bible Studies. She also helps families with funeral planning and grief ministry.

Christen looks forward to walking with people in their faith journey and helping them grow in their relationship with Christ. She is also excited to live closer to family and to help their son, Gordon, create similar childhood memories in Kansas City.
