Requirements for Marriage at Holy Family Catholic Church

• One person within the couple should be a registered and active member of Holy Family Parish for at least six months.
• Completion of the marriage preparation program, which takes about nine months.
• A date for the ceremony may be set after the couple has completed the initial meeting of the marriage preparation program.

What kind of Marriage Preparation is involved?

The couples will meet with Rob Lickteig for an initial meeting to go over Marriage Preparation at Holy Family in more detail.

Holy Family does offer two different Marriage Preparation programs

1. PREPARE-ENRICH is an 8 week marriage prep program that meets in-person in a group setting. The PREPARE-ENRICH marriage prep program puts engaged couples together in a group setting to allow engaged couples to have conversations with other couples who are also preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage. The fee for PREPARE-ENRICH is $35.
2. Thrive is an online marriage prep program that is sponsored by the Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph. This online marriage prep program is a go at your own pace marriage prep program designed to let engaged couples complete all 14 chapters either in a weekend or in 14 weeks. The fee for Thrive is $250 + $35 PREPARE-ENRICH Inventory Assessment. Register for Thrive Online.

Wedding Ceremony

The wedding ceremony will be planned by the engaged couple and the Director of Liturgy. This meeting should be scheduled directly with the Director of Liturgy. At this meeting engaged couples should bring a completed Liturgy planning sheet to discuss with the Director of Liturgy. This will also be a time to discuss wedding guidelines and decorating.
