Open to adult parishioners including confirmed high school students, the Adult Choir usually sings at the 11 a.m. Mass and other special liturgies. Rehearsals held on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:15 p.m. Weekly rehearsals on Wednesdays and a half-hour warm-up prior to Mass on Sundays are required to participate in this choir.
The Handbell Choir plays at various times throughout the liturgical year for periodic weekend Masses, especially feast days. Any teenager or adult who is a basic music reader may join the Handbell Choir. Weekly rehearsals are on Wednesdays, September-May from 8:15-9:15 p.m. are required.
Cantors intone the Word of God through individual singing as well as leading the congregation. Cantors must have an understanding of the flow of liturgy, be familiar with the parish musical repertoire, have the ability to learn new music on their own and be comfortable rehearsing the assembly.
Instrumental music greatly enhances the worship experience. Instrumental musicians accompany the choirs and cantors at Masses and other liturgical celebrations. Holy Family always needs of all levels and types of instrumental musicians including piano, guitar, strings, woodwinds and brass.
